It was a very cold morning and when I got to the station at 7:15 the previous train, the 6:40 was delayed. As I stood on the platform each train was marked as delayed or cancelled. After half an hour and 5 trains not appearing (and being frozen) I gave up went home, powered up my PC and sent an email to say I was working from home, at least for the morning!

We have pretty good work access so I was able to do most of the things I needed to, while I kept checking the train status. At about 11:30 it looked as if normal service had resumed so I walked back to the station, only to discover that the train I was expecting was cancelled! However a train to London Victoria appeared at that moment so I decided to go that way.

The simplest way from Victoria to Liverpool Street (my destination) is on the Circle line, but after waiting for ages with no sign I gave up and took the Victoria line and changed at Oxford Circus on the Central Line.

After a half day in the office I decided to buy 2m of plastic piping to turn into juggling equipment. It was only as I was walking to the Tube station that I had the though "how tall are the tube carriages?" as it happen the centre on the carriage is about 2.02m ;-)

And so safely home!
