Hectic last few days
Jul. 11th, 2007 12:26 pmLast Friday I went to Forbidden Planet as normal to discover that it was closed due to a power cut / fire alarm. Went on to Murder One, but as my Palm had died I couldn't check if I'd bought any of the new books on the table (or if I'd ordered from Amazon) so didn't get anything.
On Saturday I updated my various FAQs and a few pages for The Bujold Nexus, unfortunately when I tried to upload nothing happened! (After further investigation the problem was found to be with the upgraded TCP/IP tools I'd just installed. But it took me a few days to track down the problem).
Then on Sunday my parents came over to visit, which was nice. They were both looking in much better health, than earlier in the year. The main reason for the visit was fo setup Filezilla for FTP transfer as the previously used FTP client had stopped working, (and was now unavailable).
Monday I FINALLY managed to transfer all my current data from my old Palm Tungsten E to my new Palm T|X (which includes network support). I actually bought it back in February but due to issues with syncronising the Tungsten I'd never got around to it ;-). Since I did want to take the new PDA to Nasfic I had to get it sorted before the end of the month. It's been very cool, searching for WiFi connection points. I've found dozens between work and my tube station.
Tonight the staff at Charityshare are off on a team-building event, half the company (including me) spending all day tomorrow and the rest of the staff taking all day Friday. I may report back later (or not).
Oh yes LibraryThing current total 3227 books
