Dec. 7th, 2013

I have decided after nearly a year without updates to my LJ, that I really need to post, so that I can start regular posting again in the New Year.
The problem was that after I time I couldn't motivate myself because I had too much to catch up and then ....
Over the next few weeks I hope to summarise each month's happenings so that at the end of January 2014 I can write about a single month.
So Back in December of last year I was unemployed and had signed on to get JobSeekers allowance. I was also visiting Rewards to work on my Advanced ECDL on Tuesdays, and then on Wednesdays I was going to Crawley to dance with K.
I watched both Strictly Come Dancing, and it's discussion programme It Takes Two regularly (as I have done for the last few years. This was the first time when I had been dancing myself at the time though.
I did go to the Cinema to see the first installment of The Hobbit, it was good but seemed to be a bit stretched.
On the Sunday before Christmas my sister collected me and the holidays started.
We went to the Sunday carol service in the evening, following which I booked my hotel room for New Year's Eve. (see later)
On Christmas day my niece and her boyfriend announced their engagement!
Saw the Dr Who xmas special, started reading the Rivers of London series on my Kobo ereader
On New Years Eve I went to Crawley for the Dinner Dance, I had booked a room at the Aurora Hotel which is attached to Crawley railway station
It was a wonderful evening, I danced with K, and there was a professional couple providing a demonstration of various dances.
And that brings us to the end of the year.
For over 35 years I've kept a paper diary in which I noted what happened to me, however in 2013 I did not, instead I created an electronic notebook, with my daily details saving in monthly text files.

On the 2nd I went to the Brighton Centre to see "Starlight Express" with my parents, and sister and brother-in-law. I also booked for tickets to see The 40th Anniversary of the Rocky Horror Show at the Theatre Royal on Saturday 5th.
On Monday 7th I had an interview at Amey, at the time I thought I had the job but I was in error, so didn't return to Crawley.
I have been volunteering at Sussex Oakleaf and setup a number of Excel databases.
Signing on at the job centre every other Tuesday, visiting Rewards to work on my Advanced ECDL. I took the spreadsheet exam/test on the last Wednesday of the month and failed with 70% when pass is 75% ;-(
Also dancing with K every Wednesday, though for the 23rd the dancing was cancelled due to snow.
The last Saturday in the month is a Social Dance from 7:00 to 10:15 and danced all the dances with K.
