At Gafilk

So filkferengi, hms42 and I got to the Crowne Plaza at before 5pm. I checked in and left my stuff in my room. Then to registration to get song book and program. Then to the dealers room where I bought too many books from Larry Smith, checking LibraryThing to make sure I hadn't already got them. Back to my room to leave my purchases. Then off to dinner with filkferengi and 2 other young ladies , I had bar-b-q pork with beans and mash, followed by cherry cobbler. I was totally stuffed.

Back to the hotel and met nlbarber, caught up a bit. She has an iPod Touch too.

Then the opening at 7pm included the traditional singing of Auld Lang Syne followed by toasts.

"My Filk" followed at 8pm where obscure music related questions were asked of teams 1 and B. The final song writing round was a near draw, but the winners were team 1.

This was followed by a concert from Dene Foye, with a mix of serious and funny, self penned and otherwise.

When he finished I pumkined and went off to update LJ and then to bed.

Hint: when going to dinner with a group of women, it's the names of the single women you're supposed to remember [although remembering the name of your ride home is always good, too].
