Up for breakfast before eight. First programme item on female super heroes in comics. Most seemed to spinoff from male series, but improvements were occuring.

Bought a book from Gollancz, and then got a supporting membership for Aussiecon4 and full membership to Renovation the following year.

Ian M Banks GoH was interviewed ing a charming and funny way.

Lunch at McD included a free icecream sundae, won via Monopoly tokens.

The George Hay Lecture was by Oliver Morton on Geoengineering. How to change climate change.

The writer on the web, main point was if you started somthing, as an auther you had to keep it up. Having a two year old message saying "I'm blogging now!" didn't work.

The the afternoon continued the digital theme with the most online program item, which was on social media, but focused Twitter. It was streamed live to the interweb! And got comments from the audience via Twitter!

Third digital item was on ebooks. The best argument was from Jo Fletcher who said she coul take over a hundred submission manuscripts with her on her ebook, while the paper copies would reach the ceiling.

Caught a bit of juggling for beginners, did some teaching, and borrowed some clubs!

The the big event of the week end. The new episode of Doctor Who. Seeing it on a big screen with hundereds of fellow fans is an experience like no other, sharing the funny and the scary made it even better, and we get to see the next episode next week whee!

After a McD dinner there followed the masqurade and caberet. QI followed with pictures and PowerPoint presentation, with paper flash cards for wrong answers. Ian Sorenson took the Alan Davis role with a very negative score the audience did very well, but I think Mike Abbot won.

I did get the filking for half an hour befor pumpkining just before midnight.

We're not going to Reno. Since you're going, remember to bring lots of extra sun-screen [those little tubes that go in your pockets] & to wear a floppy hat with a wide brim. My beloved [but silly] spouse went for a marathon march south of here last week with his [pathetically inadequate] cap. The temperature was 'way up in the 80s, & he was lots hotter than he needed to be.
