Easter Sunday

I spent most if the morning reading. I did sign up for Novacon 40. Back when the only two conventions were eastercon and novacon I used to go, but with filkcons and worldcons I've not gone for a while. Since I'm not going to Australia this year I thought I'd try Novacon again.
I did manage to get to Alastair Reynold's GoH talk, if a bit late.
Lunch at McDs again had a free big Mac.
Joined 2 Eastercon, next year in Birmingham, the year after back at Heathrow.
Stephen Miller showed off expolding SFX with assistance from Gary Stratmann. He showed how to blow up a temple, but I can't remember the film's title. It isn't in IMDB either.
Mike Carey GoH was intrviewed by Paul Cornell, and I learned about his career in comics.
This follewed by at talk on fusion power which should be producing comercial power in 20 years (didn't I hear the same thing 20 years ago?)
Liz Williams GoH was interviewed which made me buy a book from her dealer's table, which she signed for me.
Dinner at McDs again, free ice cream sundae.
Then got to the main hall early for Harry Potter and the Half-Cut Prince a musical by Ian Sorrensen. Afterwards chatted with Elizabet and Ian until Mitch Benn's performance. This was the 3rd time I'd seen him live and he gets better each time. His performance of "Crap Shag" as a dalek was priceless (he did sing a translation afterwards).
I managed to catch most of the Hugo nominees, including Paul Cornell's happy dance when he was nominated.
And then to bed.
