At the end of my last post I was due to take the bus back to Crawley, and go dancing. Which I did, and we danced all the dances and then I got the bus and train home.

I also spoke to US Airways and my details were correct on their computer system. So all systems go for flying to Chicago.

My new MasterCard arrived, which was a relief as the old one expires at the end of the month and I didn't want to travel with just a Visa card.

Despite not reading all the Hugo nominees, I did vote at the last minute. I do hope Seannan McGuire wins something, though I don't expect her to win in all four categories!

We went to two dance classes since the social, and we have learned Rumba One, and steps in Rumba, Cha Cha and Foxtrot, with Waltz and Jive practice. There won't be further classes until I get back from Chicago, due to refurbishing of the hall and holidays.

A few weeks ago my back door lock started to fail. Last week D replaced it, and it works much better and fits the door better.Last weekend I went shopping in Haywards Heath, and bought stuff at the 99p shop. I also got a mop and replacement printer cartridges.

As I was elsewhere on Saturday, I had to do my normal shopping on Sunday. This included emergency shoes. My current pair are nearly falling apart, so I needed new ones before flying to the US. My normal style wasn't available in my size so had to get a more expensive pair. I hope they wear better.

I contacted HMCE re possible tax credit payments. Apparently I should have done so as soon as I started work. Even though my weekly pay is well over minimum pay.

D got me a purple keyboard at PC World Hove, as asked it's initially for use at work (where it is currently) but in future I intend to use it with my Raspberry Pi, when it arrives.

Bought my ticket to Cambridge online and collected it at the machine at Gatwick Airport

Currently I'm buying my rail ticket weekly, as it was only three weeks between my last monthly ticket and my flight to Chicago. My bus ticket on the other hand expires the day after I fly out.

Yesterday we were told that our contracts will be extended to 14/9, two days after my return from US. My personal opinion is this will be extended further at a later date. Hopefully this will occur when I'm in the UK not the US.

He is adorably squeeful about all the games going on the week we're there. [It's Wrigley field, btw, like the chewing gum.]

Be on the lookout for [livejournal.com profile] coalboy's address & phone number in your inbox. She says she lives less than a mile from the con. Hoofing it is an option, or possibly sharing a cab, etc.
