Week end news
Sep. 1st, 2008 01:03 pmOn Friday I got an email from Dad to say Mum's new laptop had arrived, and could I come and help set it up. Then I got a text from my sister with the same news, so first thing on Saturday I called back and agreed to be picked up after lunch.
I then had to leave for town as I had an appointment with the Optician at Specsavers. While I was in Denver I had problems with my long distance vision, so even though I'd had an Eye test in January this year I got another one. And my eye sight had changed and I had to order new glasses, Luckily the summer sale gave 25% off but even so a significant expense.
Back home I'd unpacked groceries and was reading waiting for Dad, he arrived just after 1pm then to Horsham. Mum's new Advent 4211-B Netbook was really cool; 1024MB memory, 80GB hard disk, Windows XP Home OS, bluetooth and WiFi. Hod problems getting a wireless connection to the internet, but I discovered it was due to issues with the ADSL router and not with the PC.
All worked painlessly, and then read until I decided to get some sleep!
On Sunday we went to the Sunday service then had lunch. And then after a snooze Mum took me home, so she could check that her netbook would connect easily to other wireless access points. It did.
