A bit delayed but better late than never.
March was pretty cold with snow at the beginning of the month. Even allowed to leave early due to snowpocolypse warnings (which didn't happen). Dance practice was also cancelled.
Have been using Metro card to catch the bus to my sister's house - finally got it unlocked so I could access details on ticket usage on the website. Visited her the weekend after the thretened snow. Danced together (both ballrom & line dancing)
Bought 3 World Book Day books from W HSmith (£1 each). Booked attending membership for next year's Eastercon (Ytterblum).
Managed to break my iphone screen (it fell of the kitchen table, when the alarm went off). Got the screen replaced later in the month.
Ballroom classes continue on Tuesday, though J had limited ability to dance. Learned a new Sequence Dance - Bambi Blues
Also started going to Line Dance classes every Wednesday, hard work (and would have been almost impossible but for the previous beginner class I took last year. Good fun though the 1:5 ratio of men to ladies is odd.
Made a walking staff from a broom handle, varnishing it required it to be hung from the ceiling!
The ceiling on the upper floor at work partially fell in, which required all the staff on that floor to be relocated to the ground floor or working from home.
The Brighton SF Reading Group discussed Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, which I'd read when it originally was published, but didn't complete the recent re-read. Fairly lively discussion.
On Saturday 17th went to the Horsham Drill Hall (it was snowing), to meet my mum, sister C and her friend D; for the Strictly Vintage Tea Dance - with a big band and high tea!
Did a fair amount of dancing with both D and C (also line dancing with the latter - got a group of people line dancing during one tune). Mum didn't dance ;-).
I won a prize as best dressed male! Due to my Cuban heeled shoes (and embroidered by my sister; shirt and tie).
Stayed over for the rest of the w/e but woke in the night with chest pan for over an hour, also out of breath so not a heart attack!
On Sunday C & I did line dances for an hour before lunch and then taken home before it started snowing again.
Had the hard back edition delivered from amazon to work, first time that I had used this address, but a useful option for stuff that can't be delivered to a local Amazon locker.
Didn't got to Eastercon (Follycon) this year as I was unable to get Thursday off work, a shame as it appears to have been a fun event. However as a result I was able to go to the Social Dance on the last Saturday of the month.

Ballroom Dancing with J all month (on Tuesday evening) practicing Foxtrot with some Tango revision. J's mum in hospital
Visited parents and sisters family, setup iPad for my Mum. Gave gad his belated birthday card. J's mum died.
Updated The Bujold Nexus a bit. Ordered some books from amazon, collected then from the Amazon locker in town
Yoga class every Wednesday after work, now paid for by the students at £6 per week
Bought short book for £1 for World Book Day. The SF Reading group met to discuss Anima by Brett Davidson a book that has not yet been officially published by our fearless leader!
Barnes and Noble are to stop supporting the Nook ereader in the UK, uk Nook users can automatically transfer their library to Sainsbury's Entertainment On demand. I tried and only one book was copied.
As it stands my Nook Wifi is not longer of any use so I will have to "root" it to turn it into an android 2.1 tablet and be able to use wifi again.
Decided to re-read all Diane Duane's Young Wizards as part of Mark Reads
Printed my 2015 Diary via Doxdirect, it appears to be slightly longer than the previous volumes.
Cut the front lawn for the first time this year, exhausted me, now I have to mow the back lawn!
Social dance was a week early due to Easter using that week end.
For the first time since I started at work I was on the very early shift 7:30-3:30 (I did say that I was available for this time slot) Unfortunately due to train time I actually gt to the station 7:28 so I have 2 minutes to get to the office and get setup (with a cup of tea), this work out OK. - no late trains.
Did some overtime - setting up new account to allow GPs to use WiFi. iPhone iOS updated to ver 9.3
Remembers to nominate in the Hugos this year!
Eastercon 2016 - Mancunicon
mbernardi: (juggling clubs)
Thursday was World Book Day so on the way home from LotR:TM I stopped at books etc (over Victoria station) and bought 3 of the special £1 novelettes that were available.

My sister and brother in law had traveled up for a long weekend for a 40th birthday party, on Saturday. They were staying with me on Thursday and Friday. When I got in we ordered take-out Indian and spent a nice time eating and catching up.

My sister tends to organise my life, so she organised a new lodger to visit on Saturday to see that we would suite and he moved in yesterday. He's also in the IT field, though not a fiction reader!

I finally started moving data from my Old half working Palm TX to my new replacement Palm TX (it arrived nearly a month ago). It's nice to actually be able to use the touch screen again.

Yesterday was my juggling class and I must say that my club juggling has improved enormously over the last 2 terms. This week I did a fair amount of passing with one classmate and then did 3 person passing with him and the "teacher". It felt really cool when it worked, even though it was only for a few throws.
